How to Configure the Panopto Tool after Copying a Blackboard Course

  1. Log in to Blackboard and go to your new course
  2. Click the Tools button in the course menu
  3. Click on the Panopto Focus Content tool
  4. You will see the Panopto folder from the original Blackboard course that you copied your content from. This folder however is still provisioned to the old course and not set up for the new course. Click the Configure button.
  5. A list of folders that you have access to in Panopto will be visible under Available Folders. The folder from the copied course is listed on the right, but it not actually connected to the new course. Select this course and click << Remove.
  6. If you wish to have all new content in Panopto and have a fresh clean folder to start from for this new Blackboard course, you will need to create a new folder for Panopto.  Click the Create New Folder button and type in a new course name, preferably the same as your Blackboard course name.
  7. Now this new course name will be listed in the Selected Folders area.
  8. Click Submit
  9. If you wish to only use new Panopto content for this course, then you may stop here.
  10. If you wish to use your previous course Panopto content, you will need to link it to the new course. Click the Configure button again. You will see the same page showing you your Available Folders and the new folder will be listed under Selected Folders.
  11. Under Available Folders select the folder from the previous course and click Add >>.
  12. Click Submit

  13. Your new Blackboard course is now provisioned to the previous semester’s Panopto recordings. All students and instructors in the new course will be able to view that content when you add each recording to your new course’s content areas.
